FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR PROPERTY OWNERS
ABOUT LISTING YOUR PROPERTY
Q: What kind of properties are you looking for?
A: We're looking for unique, characterful homes in Mallorca that would make stunning backdrops for photo shoots. Whether your property is a modern villa, rustic finca, or stylish apartment, if it has great natural light and interesting features, we'd love to hear from you!
Q: Does my home need to be perfect?
A: Not at all! While your property should be well-maintained, it's character and uniqueness that matter most. We're looking for homes with personality and great photographic potential.
Q: How often would my property be used?
A: This varies throughout the year and depends on client demands. Some properties might be booked several times a month during peak seasons, while others might be used less frequently. We'll always work around your availability and preferences.
FEES AND PAYMENT
Q: How much can I earn from hiring out my property?
A: Rates vary depending on your property's size, location, and unique features. We'll discuss specific day rates during our initial consultation.
Q: How and when do I get paid?
A: We handle all payments from clients, and you'll receive your share promptly after each shoot. All financial details will be clearly outlined in our property representation agreement.
Q: Are there any costs involved in listing my property with you?
A: No, there are no upfront costs to list your property with Home Milk Locations.
Q: Do I need to pay tax on income from property shoots?
A: You should consult with your tax advisor or gestor about your specific situation and how to properly declare this income in Spain. We provide clear documentation of all payments for your records, but we cannot provide specific tax advice.
THE SHOOT PROCESS
Q: What happens during a Recce day?
A: A Recce is a pre-shoot visit where the production team views your property to plan their shoot. This is your opportunity to discuss any specific requirements, agree on furniture movement, and address any concerns.
Q: Do I need to be present during shoots?
A: You'll need to be there at the start and end of each shoot day. While you don't need to stay during the shoot itself, we recommend remaining local in case of any questions.
Q: Will my furniture be moved?
A: Possibly - this will be discussed during the Recce. Any movement will be agreed in advance with you, handled with utmost care, and everything will be returned to its original position.
PRIVACY AND SECURITY
Q: How do you protect my property's privacy?
A: We never share exact locations or property details publicly. Your address and personal information remain strictly confidential, shared only with verified clients.
Q: How do you screen potential clients?
A: All our clients are professionally vetted, and we work primarily with established brands and production companies.
LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
Q: Do I need a license to use my property as a shoot location?
A: For standard photo shoots and short-term filming (less than a month), no special license is required. However, if your property will be used for large-scale productions like reality shows that require extensive setup (such as base camps or significant power installations), permits may be needed. We'll advise if any specific project requires additional permissions.
INSURANCE AND LIABILITY
Q: What insurance coverage is required?
A: We require all clients to provide proof of public liability insurance (minimum €5,000,000) and property damage coverage before any shoot.
Q: What happens if something gets damaged?
A: Damages can occasionally happen with the hustle bustle of a shoot, however all shoots are fully insured. Any issues should be noted during the final walk-through with the production team, and they will replace or resolve any issues
Do I need to inform my home contents insurance company? A: Some policies may need to be adjusted to cover this activity. We recommend: • Informing your insurance provider • Checking if your current policy covers commercial activities • Discussing any additional coverage needed
PROPERTY PREPARATION
Q: How should I prepare my property for shoots?
A: We'll provide a detailed checklist, but essentially your property should be clean, tidy, and presented similarly to our portfolio images.
Q: Can I leave valuable items in the property?
A: We recommend securing valuable or personal items in a locked room or off site during shoots. This will be discussed during the Recce.
TIMING AND AVAILABILITY
Q: Can I block out dates when my property isn't available?
A: Absolutely! You maintain complete control over your property's availability. Simply let us know which dates don't work for you.
