5 reasons to love a colour pop floor

Have you been thinking about vinyl flooring but not sure if it’s the right choice for you? Flooring is definitely a choice that makes people hesitate, there’s a lot to consider. You want to make sure it looks good, can take the knocks of daily life and is easy to maintain.

I was very honoured to be asked to work with The Colour Flooring Company to help choose 3 new colours for their vinyl range. Plus I’ve had one installed in my bathroom. It has really opened my eyes to how amazing vinyl flooring can be. Here’s a few reasons why it might be the right purchase for you…

Colour

People don’t often think of the floor as a place to add a splash of colour but it can make a real statement, especially if you have lighter walls. It can also work particularly well in contrast with patterned tiles. If you opt for a brighter/lighter tone like this Gloria Pink it will make the space feel more spacious as it reflects more light. I’ve definitely noticed the difference since we replaced our grey floor with this pink, Gloria has brought the sunshine with her!

Warmth

I expected the vinyl to feel a lot cooler under foot but it has such a lovely softness to it, it’s very warm and nice to step out onto when you get out of the bath. Plus it is suitable for us with under floor heating if you want to ramp up the comfort. As above with the lighter tone making it feel light and bright, if you opt for a darker tone that will absorb more light and give a feeling of extra warmth too.

Easy clean

A daily sweep is a good idea, then if needed a little wipe down with a cloth and soapy water. A lighter floor is going to take a bit more cleaning as it will highlight grubby foot prints more than a darker floor, but it’s all totally manageable. If you have a bath mat or rug in high traffic areas this will also help,

Budget friendly

Vinyl flooring is one of the cheapest options when it comes to flooring. One thing I’d recommend is getting a reliable floor fitter, making failed attempts either yourself or with a not-so-great tradesmen will leave you with more expense. David from Floor London was absolutely brilliant, so professional and also a lovely chap, plus he found some paintable sealant for me so we could keep the edges pink!

Personality

I think this might be my favourite reason for choosing a colour pop floor. It’s a way to showcase your personality through your choice of colour. For me this pink is playful and fun without shouting too loudly, it’s a more muted take on a pastel pink. It’s super versatile and can work with so many colour combinations. I’d always recommend getting a sample before purchase to see how the colour works in your space, each space will show the colour in a unique way due to your light and the other elements within your room.

I hope you have fun finding your flooring, The Colour Flooring have so many great options, but if want to know the 3 I chose for them they are, Gloria Pink, Pistachio and Citron x
